Move-in cleaning in Dallas
An empty home is the only chance you get to clean the insides of everything. Once the boxes land, that window closes.

- Best timing
- After closing or key handover, before movers
- Home state
- Empty, or nearly empty
- Includes
- Insides of cabinets, drawers and appliances
- Also for
- New construction handovers
A move-in clean is defined by timing more than by scope. There is a short window between getting the keys and the moving truck arriving when every cabinet, every drawer, every closet and the inside of every appliance is reachable. That window is worth using, because the same tasks after furniture arrives are three times the work.
It matters more than people expect. A previous occupant's cleaning is not your cleaning, and a builder's final wipe-down on a new Dallas build is not the same as a clean — construction dust hides in cabinet interiors, on the top edges of doors and inside HVAC vents long after the walkthrough is signed.
What a move-in clean covers
Insides, not just surfaces
The whole point of cleaning an empty home is access. Everything that a normally furnished house hides gets attention.
Wherever there is a hard floor, it is cleaned last and cleaned twice — once to lift construction or move-out grit, once to finish.
- Inside every kitchen and bathroom cabinet and drawer
- Inside the refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave and dishwasher
- Inside closets, including shelving and hanging rails
- Baseboards, door frames, doors and around every handle
- Light switch plates, outlet covers and reachable light fixtures
- Window sills and interior tracks
- Bathroom fixtures, glass, grout lines and exhaust covers
- Laundry connections, dryer vent cover and the floor beneath appliances
- Full floor clean throughout, edges included
Getting the sequence right
- Step 1
Keys, then cleaners, then movers
Book the clean for the day you take possession or the day after. Trying to clean around a half-loaded truck wastes most of the value.
- Step 2
Utilities on first
We need water and power. In older East Dallas and Oak Cliff homes it is worth checking the hot water heater is actually running.
- Step 3
Flag anything that needs a specialist
Carpet shampooing, pest issues, mold or HVAC duct cleaning are separate trades. We will tell you what we can see.
- Step 4
Walk it before the truck arrives
Check the work while the house is still empty. Anything missed is corrected within 24 hours at no additional cleaning charge.
Apartments, condos and high-rises
Moving into a building rather than a house adds logistics. Many Uptown, Downtown and Turtle Creek towers require a certificate of insurance from vendors, a reserved service elevator, and loading dock time. We handle those requests routinely — tell us the building at booking and we will work with management. There is more on the building side in high-rise cleaning and condo cleaning.
Move-in and move-out on the same week
If you are leaving one Dallas property and entering another, the two cleans are different jobs with different goals. A move-out clean is judged by a landlord or a buyer. A move-in clean is judged by you. Booking both is common and we schedule them so the outbound property is finished before the inbound one starts.
Questions people ask about this service
Should I have a home professionally cleaned before moving in?
It is the single best-timed clean you will ever buy, because everything is accessible. Even a home that was left in good condition holds dust in cabinet interiors, closets and vents that a walkthrough will not show.
Does move-in cleaning include inside the refrigerator and oven?
Yes. On an empty home, appliance interiors are part of the standard move-in scope rather than an add-on.
Can you clean if the home still has some furniture in it?
Yes, but tell us in advance. Partially furnished homes take longer and some interior access is lost, so the quote and the schedule need to reflect that.
What is the difference between move-in and move-out cleaning?
Scope overlaps heavily; the audience does not. Move-out is written against a lease or a sale contract and inspected by someone else. Move-in is written against your standards. The full comparison is here.
